Swaying
” Swaying” is just a way of trying to tip the odds of a gender outcome from 50/50 towards your desired outcome instead. Swaying does not mean you are playing God. Swaying means that you will do everything in your power to sway to odds. 50% chance of your desired gender is not enough for most people who want a family of limited size. Many people who sway have an image of their desired family makeup that is so close to heart it hurts to try and live without.
We have a one-gender family. I love my one-gender family. I hate the rude comments, presumptuousness, and lame off-handed remarks. I would never, in one million years trade away any of my children, or wish away what we have. This exact family is absolutely just right for us. It would, however be great to add another member and bring some “balance” to complete our family. In an attempt to understand what determines the outcome of gender I started some research. Answers such as “God’s plan”, random chance, husband’s sperm, and “luck” have been over very little help to me. Instead, I prefer some literature, scientific reasoning, and personal experience in the search for answers. For our final child I am planning a one-shot sway. Wish me luck!
